Choosing a partner
Six checks that separate a top-rated software company from a well-marketed one, applied to us as honestly as to everyone else on your shortlist.
Every software company in the search results calls itself the best. Most of them call themselves top-rated, leading and popular too. None of those words carry any information, because none of them cost anything to write — which leaves you comparing adjectives at exactly the moment you are about to commit real money.
So this page does not argue that we are the best. It sets out the six things that genuinely predict whether a software project ships on time and on budget, shows you how to check each one in an afternoon, and then answers them for Alex Solution so you can hold us to the same standard as everyone else you are talking to.
We are a software, web and mobile app development company based in Panchkula, in the Chandigarh Tricity. We have been building since 2019, we have delivered more than 150 projects, and we work with clients in 513+ cities across 187 countries — in person locally, online everywhere else. If at the end of this page you decide somebody else fits better, the six checks were still worth the read.
Apply all six to every company on your shortlist, including us. They take an afternoon and they are the cheapest insurance available on a software budget.
The best software companies put the whole thing in writing first — every screen, every integration, every thing explicitly excluded — and they do it free. A company that wants a 'discovery fee' before it will tell you what it is building has moved its risk onto you. Ask for the document; the speed and detail of what comes back tells you most of what you need to know.
A single total is not a quote, it is a number. The top firms break it into line items so you can see what each part costs and decide what to drop. That also makes two quotes comparable — a cheaper total with fewer lines is not a better deal, it is the same project with the hard parts deferred to a change request.
Not 'around 8–10 weeks'. A date. And a milestone plan behind it, so slippage is visible in week two rather than week ten. Any company can name a date; the ones worth hiring name it in writing and then tell you, unprompted, when it is at risk.
Not a testimonials page — phone numbers. This is the single filter most buyers skip and the one that separates the shortlist fastest. A popular software company with real repeat clients can produce two contacts in an hour. Ask both what went wrong on their project and how it was handled; the answer to that is worth more than the whole portfolio.
The best-run projects are boring: you open a URL each week and click the thing that now exists. No status emails, no slide decks, no eight-week silence ending in a reveal. If a company cannot show you running software until the end, you have no way of knowing whether it is late until it already is.
Source code, hosting, domain, analytics, app-store accounts and the design files. Top-rated companies hand these over as a matter of course because they expect to be rehired on merit. Ask the question directly — 'what do I own if we part ways in month three?' — and listen for hesitation.
In the same order, so you can put this next to whatever the other companies send you.
These four words get used interchangeably in search, and they describe genuinely different things. Untangling them makes the shortlist much easier to build.
Best is a fit judgement, not a league table. The best software company for a ₹2 lakh brochure site and the best one for a multi-tenant SaaS platform are almost never the same firm. What you are looking for is the one whose typical project looks most like yours — which is why the useful question on a first call is "show me the two things you have built that are closest to this", not "how many people do you have".
Top-rated usually means rated by somebody, and it is worth asking by whom. Directory badges are frequently paid placements. Public review profiles are more useful, but read them for recency and for what the negative ones say rather than for the average. The strongest rating signal is the one nobody publishes: how much of a company's work comes from clients who came back.
Popular means well-marketed. That is not a criticism — a company good enough to grow usually does market itself — but popularity is a lagging, noisy signal and it is the easiest of the four to buy. Treat it as a reason to look, never as a reason to hire.
Online simply describes how the work runs, and for software it is now the default rather than a compromise. A remote project with a written scope, a weekly demo link and a shared board is more transparent than a local one conducted over meetings, because everything is recorded and everything shown is the real build. Proximity still helps for discovery workshops and for training staff at handover — which is why we do both in person across the Tricity and travel elsewhere when a project justifies it.
The part most company pages leave out. Knowing where a supplier does not fit is worth more to you than another paragraph about why they do.
We are a senior team, not a body shop. If your requirement is headcount rather than outcome, a large staffing firm will serve you better and we will say so on the first call rather than three weeks in.
There is always someone cheaper, and often they are cheaper because the quote leaves out testing, deployment and the second half of the integrations. We will not compete on a number we cannot deliver on — a half-finished build is the most expensive software there is.
We travel for kickoff and for handover training where a project warrants it, and we are genuinely local across the Chandigarh Tricity. If your project needs somebody on your factory floor three days a week in another state, hire locally.
Our process needs about an hour of your time a week to review the demo and answer questions. Projects where the client disappears are the ones that end badly, so we would rather not start one.
Any number published before a requirement is seen is a guess, and a rate card that fits everyone fits nobody. What can be said honestly is the shape of it: a brochure website, an e-commerce store, a mobile app and a full ERP are four different budgets, and within each of those the integrations decide the spread far more than the page count does.
The comparison worth making is not between totals but between line items. Two quotes for "an e-commerce store" can differ threefold because one includes payment reconciliation, shipping integration, an admin panel your staff can actually use and a month of post-launch support, and the other includes a storefront. Ask both companies to itemise and the gap usually explains itself in about ten minutes.
Our own position on price is simple and checkable: we run a lean senior team from the Chandigarh Tricity rather than an office in a metro, so our cost base is lower and that difference goes into the quote. We will tell you when a cheaper approach does the same job. What we will not do is quote a number we cannot deliver on, because a half-finished build is the most expensive software there is — and it is the single most common reason a project reaches us as a rescue.
Send us the requirement, even as a rough note, and you will have an itemised written estimate within one business day, with the lines you could drop to bring the number down marked.
The detail behind each of the claims on this page lives on its own page, so you can check them rather than take them.
There is no single answer, and any company that gives you one without seeing your requirement is selling rather than advising. "Best" depends on what you are building, what you can spend and how much of your own time you can give it. What does not change is how you find out: ask every shortlisted company for a written scope, a fixed itemised price, a named delivery date and two clients you can phone. We would put Alex Solution forward on all four — building since 2019, 150+ projects delivered and a 98% client-satisfaction record — and we are happy to be compared side by side with whoever else is on your list.
Two separate questions, worth untangling. "Near me" is answered by search engines using your own device location and the business profiles around it — no website ranks for that phrase by writing it into its text, so what you are looking at is a proximity list, not a quality list. Google Maps is the honest tool for proximity. Then apply the six checks on this page to whoever it returns. For software specifically, being close by is almost never the deciding factor: a company three kilometres away that shows you nothing for eight weeks is the riskier arrangement.
Usually marketing budget, and it is worth being clear that the two are not the same thing. Popularity tells you a company can win attention; it tells you very little about whether your project will ship on time. The signals that actually correlate with a good outcome are unglamorous — repeat business, references who answer the phone, and a written scope produced quickly. Look for those instead of for the biggest name.
Yes, and for most projects it is the better arrangement. Our work runs on a written scope, a weekly demo on a link you can open, and a shared board you can check at any hour — all of which are more transparent than a meeting room, because everything said gets written down and everything shown is the real thing. We work this way with clients in 513+ cities across 187 countries. For Chandigarh Tricity clients we also meet in person; elsewhere we travel for kickoff and handover training where the project justifies it.
No, and the correlation is weaker than people expect. A large part of a metro agency's rate is rent, sales commission and account-management layers — none of which write code. What you should be comparing is the itemised quote, not the headline total, and the bench that will actually be on your project. Send us a brief you have already had quoted elsewhere and compare the two line by line; that comparison wins us most of our work.
Building since 2019, 150+ delivered projects and a 98% client-satisfaction record, with backend, front-end, mobile, UI/UX design, SEO and digital marketing under one roof — so you brief once instead of coordinating four vendors who blame each other when something slips. We are based at Plot No. 9, IT Park, Sector 22, Panchkula, Haryana — 134109, India and work with clients across India and overseas. None of that is a reason to hire us on its own; it is a reason to put us on the shortlist and then apply the six checks above.
Not as a rating, no — and that is deliberate. We have no verified public review corpus large enough to average honestly, and publishing a number we cannot source would be both dishonest and, in structured-data terms, the kind of thing that gets a site's rich results removed. What we publish instead are figures we can stand behind: the founding year, the delivered-project count and the satisfaction figure, plus client contacts on request so you can check them yourself.
One business day for an itemised written estimate, from a rough note — you do not need a specification to start. Call +91 70878 68780 or email help@alexsolution.in and we will ask the handful of questions that actually change the number.
Let's turn your idea into a polished, scalable product. Tell us what you need and we'll get back within one business day.
